Why is it that I’m supposed to feel privileged if a Christian tells me “I’ll pray for you.” yet…?

When someone says that they'll pray for me, it just makes me sick. Usually they do it when I've said something they can't explain. Like why can't you think for yourself? Why do you have to do what your pastor ( who didn't even go to seminary) tells you to do? They always pause and then say "I'll pray for you". Why are their prayer's any better than mine? Just ignore them. I've come to understand that pray for you doesn't mean you are privileged. It means that there is something wrong with you - in their eyes. In the eyes of everyone else, you must be pretty normal.
