When will Pedro Alveraz start playing for the pittsburgh pirates????

Pedro Alvarez first needs to sign a contract with the Pirates. With Scott Boras as his agent, it could a long time before the small market pirates agree to boras and alvarez's demands. its taken teams as long as a whole year to sign there top picks, and if the player doesnt sign within a year, the team will lose that player and he will become eligible in next years draft. after a contract is in place, it generally takes a couple of years for top hitters in the minor leagues. its generally a little quicker for top pitchers however. uming pedro alvarez signs sometime this summer, i would bet that the earliest you will see him in a pirate uniform will be in sept 2009.
