I have 4 dogs, I also have a garden and get organtic scraps from a resturant for compost. can I mix/cook this?

into their food? Ive heard that greens, veggies and fruit is good for them. Is there any tricks to doing this? should I cook it in a large pan and pour it over the dry dog food? should I do it slowly over time? Is there veggies I should avoid? can you recommend any books or recipes?
